This album got me interested in Copyright law.

I cannot believe how asinine it is that this original work is technically illegal.

Fuck the RIAA/MPAA!

I completely agree.

I wonder how many people have never been exposed to Bob Dylan simply because his label has an authoritarian grip on the work's distribution on the web.

Google, interestingly enough, gets around this by making blanket agreements with labels where they get a cut of ad revenue, and then when a video is tagged as "copyright infringement", instead of being taken down, the uploader gets the option to include advertisements before the video to pay for the license to use the music. It's genius, really, especially because it doesn't alienate those people who hate ads and are already using an ad blocker.

I hate music labels that do not want to adapt to the new economy.

We want all our music available online, for a decent price. Generally, about $1 a song is acceptable. I would pay up to $2/song for a FLAC/Lossless file; without DRM so that I can choose to make compressed copies when I need to for mobile devices.
